A Look at the Wood Design Show 2023

The Wood Design Show (WDS) is a premier event in design, architecture, and manufacturing that’s organized by DSR. It was set to take place in Quebec City at the Centre des congrès de Québec on October 11 and 12, 2023.

This 8th edition of the show is tailored to meet the specific needs of designers and architects, focusing on interior design materials. It’s a key event for industry leaders, featuring exhibitors, conference speakers, and attendees who are the who’s who of the sector.

This year’s show promised several new features, including an expanded show floor with three conference stages and two lounges.

Notably, WDS hosted its first-ever VIP networking cocktail dînatoire on the evening of October 11 and a Bubbles and Beans closing event at mid-day on October 12.

With over 50,000 ft2 of space, more than 50 exhibitors, and three conference stages – one produced by INDEX-DESIGN – the event was anticipated to surpass expectations. It offered an unmatched opportunity for architects, designers, cabinetmakers, woodworkers, manufacturers, key associations, and other industry professionals to network with clients, prospects, and suppliers.

Caroline Brassard, DSR and Events Manager at Design Spec Rep, emphasizes that the WDS is a must-attend event, providing an ideal platform for networking in the industry.

The Wood Design Show boasts a diverse and impressive lineup of exhibitors, featuring prominent figures in the industry. This includes renowned material and equipment manufacturers and distributors, digital technology providers, trade associations, as well as builders and promoters.

Visitors have the opportunity to attend eight free conferences produced by INDEX-DESIGN, led by seasoned professionals in architecture, design, and trend research.

These experts, representing some of Quebec’s most recognized firms, will offer valuable insights through case studies, best practices, and engaging content. Additionally, two extra conference rooms will be dedicated to product presentations, training, and networking sessions conducted by exhibitors.

This setup ensures that visitors gain insider knowledge about the latest products and solutions, further enhancing their experience at the show.
